Celebrating Success: Two Short Documentaries Selected for SSFF, Short Documentary Film Festival in Tokyo

We are thrilled to announce that two of our short documentaries, "Circle of Donuts" (directed by Toshikazu Hosoki) and "EFE" (directed by Shiori Ito), have been selected for the non-fiction section of the Short Shorts Film Festival (SSFF). As the largest short film festival in Asia and accredited by the U.S. Academy Awards, SSFF showcased our films at theaters in Omotesando and Futago Tamagawa.

What is a Film Festival?

Many envision film festivals as opportunities to see films before their release, walk the glamorous red carpet, and meet popular actors.

While these are certainly highlights, a film festival is also a marketplace where films are bought and sold. Freshly made films have their world premieres, and connoisseurs from around the globe purchase the rights to screen them in various countries.

For example, the day after the world premiere of our feature-length documentary "Black Box Diaries," we received numerous inquiries from distributors worldwide. Director Shiori Ito and producer Hana were busy responding to these requests nonstop.

The Unique Role of Short Shorts Film Festival (SSFF)

The Short Shorts Film Festival, where our short documentaries were screened, differs from traditional film markets. With limited opportunities for short films to be shown in theaters, SSFF offers a unique platform to experience high-quality short films from around the world.

In today's era of online viewing, short films, typically around 10 minutes in length, have become highly sought-after. While many are self-produced, "branded content" has emerged as a mainstream genre. Companies now support the content and story of short films, sometimes even leading their production.

The Intersection of Art and Business

Unlike traditional commercials, we are now in an era where communicating essential values resonates more deeply with customers than directly promoting products and services. Sharing and presenting new values is the significant role of art and film. Companies can collaborate with filmmakers to produce short films that deeply engage customers and convey important values through compelling narratives. This represents the harmonious coexistence of art and business.

At our film and video production company, we specialize in creating "once-in-a-lifetime films" that have the power to change audiences' lives.

Looking Forward

We received tremendous feedback after the screenings of our films. Unlike online screenings, these in-person interactions provided invaluable encouragement for our future endeavors and sparked our imagination for upcoming projects.

Thank you to everyone who attended!
